Fontana della Barcaccia located in Piazza di Spagna The "fountain of the boat" was commissioned by Pope Urban VIII in 1623 as part of an initiative to build a fountain in every major piazza in the city. The fountain was carved by acclaimed sculptor Pietro Bernini and was completed between 1627 and 1629.
